Everyone likes to get away, but not everyone can hop on their private jet and go to the Full Moon Party in Thailand at the drop of a hat. So here’s a bunch of cheap things to do, and even a well-priced trip:

 

Gawd, I’m so bored what should I do?

 

1). Go to a gig- Quite a few music shops hold in-store gigs because it gets folks through the door. Check out what’s upcoming at Rough Trade East.

 

2). Watch a cheap film- The Prince Charles Cinema in Leicester Square shows fewer films than your average Vue... but tickets are about £5, or £1.50 if you’re a member! If the film you want to see is on, then what are you waiting for? Why are you still reading this?

 

3). Experience the Middle East- Shishsa or Hookah, whatever you call it! Have a puff and watch the world go by in the undercover area with some mates at Hookah Lounge on Brick Lane with some apple tobacco.

 

4). Be the first to see it- The Windmill is a great live music venue in Brixton. It’s relaxed and showcases some popular, but mainly up-and-coming, bands. Tickets will cost you about a fiver and it has a decent bar.

 

5). Get wise- This independent educational establishment offers free lectures (first come, first served) delivered by eight professors from all sorts of subjects including music and law. These lectures are held at Barnard's Inn Hall, EC1N 2HH.

 

6). Something wild- For about £40 you can attend an immersive cinema experience, where the film plays and actors dressed as the characters act it out around you. You take part in it too! For example, when my friend went to see The Shawshank Redemption she got arrested, and when I went to see Brazil, I got a promotion and interrogated a suspected terrorist… It’s absolutely mental and fantastic! My favourite thing to do is Secret Cinema, which is immense (but not that much of a secret).

 

7). Get a scare – The London Dungeons are a great place to go and get a quick shot of adrenaline with your mates. Or take along a girl and be sure to get some close contact. Order tickets online and it's less than £20.
